About Dance Outlook
Dance Outlook is a daily dance blog focusing on happenings in the dance world and reviews of dance shows, companies, performances, and more. I started Dance Outlook in May 2007 as an outlet for my opinions on everything dance and the site has grown from there.
I'm a dancer. I've been trained in ballet, modern, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and tumbling/pom. I focus on ballet and modern now, but take everything I can squeeze in to my schedule.
I write mostly about things I do and see related to the dance world. The layout changes from time to time, but for the most part the style and mood of the content stays the same.
You can contact me via email here.

Caught your blog for the first time. It addresses a nice range of dance so wanted to give you a heads up about Chicago Dancing Festival (Aug. 18-20). It's three events and they're totally free...yes free. If you're in the Chicago area that time you'll want to check it out. I didn'tfind any indication if you'd caught last year's by you can get a sense by visiting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fYjSAd5yE0
Great posts, thanks for sharing it! Would love to feature you on Wellsphere.com, a site that helps people to live healthier. Can't find a contact form so thought I'd comment; look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Larisa
Thanks for your interest! I also replied to your comment via email.

Hello,
Toni Branner, M.D. has recently released a series of books focused on health and wellness for children and young adults who are practicing to become professional dancers or athletes. Toni received a Master’s Degree in exercise Physiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has been a life long dancer.
Her book and DVD for adults, The Safe Exercise Handbook (5th Edition) promote the importance of a regular exercise program as a means of improving your health and quality of life. This book is currently used on Naval aircraft carriers to guide military personnel through their workouts. Toni’s new books, just released are The Care and Feeding of an Athlete and The Care and Feeding of a Dancer. They address the important issues of oxidative stress, nutrition, muscle care, and stress management specifically for the active population.
Because you are interested in this subject we were wondering if you would be willing to receive a free copy of The Care and Feeding of a Dancer and The Care and Feeding of an Athlete and review them for us? We have attached a sample chapter of each book for your consideration. If you would like a copy for review, please respond with an address to which we may send the books. Once you receive them, we would appreciate a copy of your review on Amazon.com and your recommendation on your own site.
Thanks for your time and consideration,
Tyler Abbott

My name is Marissa and I've been a dancer for many years. I came across your blog and I think it is fantastic! What a cool idea: I love all the video! Anyways, I work for Art Meets Commerce, a marketing/advertising company for Off Broadway and Broadway shows. We are currently working on a new project, Fela! The New Musical (www.felaoffbraodway.com) that is being choreographed and staged by Bill T. Jones. I'm a big fan of his work. I'm sure you must be familiar with him, since he is a great modern choreographer. His work with Alvin Ailey, as well as his own work, is always fantastic.
If you find yourself in the New York area, we would be more than happy to provide you with an opportunity to see the show for free! If not, I would be more than happy to provide you with behind the scenes pictures and video of Bill T. Jones choreographing in action. Since I'm a dancer, I always find it fascinating to watch great choreographers work. And we have some great footage.
We are trying to get the word out about the new show, so anything you could do on your blog (if you want) would really help!! Let me know what you think, and I can send you some more info, pics, footage, etc! Oh, check out our website if you get a chance: www.felaoffbroadway.com!
Best,
Marissa
